this idea of a person who wants to get close to another person but not so close that it woud bring them down. it is about the pull of desire, the reticence of committment, and the preservation of self.it makes for a good offbrat pop song, especially as the protagonisht is an aging fisherman whoi rents boats and bait to tourists who have made a wrong turn,
