dawn is breakimg i hear a cry
another sleeping man has died
the sky is swarming with dragonflies
on the other side of the window

on the other side of the window
bayonets in a long grey line
i never should have done what i did
but sometimes i just lose my mind

church bells ring when the reverend calls "bingo
shoes hanging off the telephone wire
gangland wars between the catholics and the gringos
on the other side of the window

lines of ailing people trying to beat the clock
a ragman passes by pushing an empty cart
the cops are standing by waiting for the riot to start
on the other side of the wndow

on the other side of the window
people are seeking others for distraction
others as bored as themselves
breaking all the lawa of attraction universal dissatisfaction

to stay safe within the boundaries of tradition
or run howling down the highway to perdition
the poison of purity in the lie of a nation
chasing happiness through self-annihilation

on the other side of the window
i see a little girl and an old man
a woman who knows the situation,
yet doesnt understand

i hit my head n the ceiling and get knocked out cold
than i float like a blind man in limbo
i open my eyes but there is nothing left to see
on the other side of the window

there is nothing for me to see

something is peeking in at me
