when shane mcgowan died, there was no place i would rather have been than dublin. A city that truly loved and mourned its poet is such a rarity in these times. Yet in my own city of Lima, Peru, a week later another beloved singer died, and streets were blocked off for his funeral procession as well. and I got to thinking, every major tragedy being reported in the world news is also a daily reality here in peru. Yet the world is unaware of it, or just doesnt give a damn,
