we burst into an empty frame
for each unsettled picture
we settle on a name

mama first and then comes daddy
taste and touch, sight and sound
the difference between soup and candy
the sky is up the ground is down

we find the places for the pieces
and the puzzle grows
a seed, a stem, a leaf,a thorn
and finally a rose

and if growing up
is a jigsaw
in which we are immersed
getting old
is like doing
