i wanted to define the human condition in one word and finally settled on frailty. iit is whar every living, mortal thing has in common. i wanted that one word to dominate, so cut back on any lyrical excess that might distract from the musical expression of this one word. While many believe it is our strength that people admire, it may be that the opposite is true. People hate and fear strength, while frailty can be attractive. It is why we love children, and are kind to wounded animals. The temporal luminosity of a frail person reminds us that we are here but for a short time, and then are gone, and such realization inspires love for our fellow mortals. How many wicked men have been forgiven and loved in the frailty of their final years?
