he returned from the grass lands
after sixteen years had passed
i could not read his story
written on forty-nine blades of grass

each blade of grass was numbered
but the numbers made no sense
chapter one began on page sixteen
and page sixteen was bare

a wise man from the desert
came knocking at the door
he was looking for the king
but he did not know what for
elvis came out willingly
after the wise man said "because"
he didnt recognize the king
had no idea who he was

he had returned from the grass lands
