Might as well put your life back on the shelf Because nobody digs your music but yourself You laid it on the line but they refused The boy who clicked the ruby slippers And strapped on lavender shoes His eyes were like two pinwheels in the dark He couldn’t see the door and yet he never missed his mark Many ships set sail but only some get through On one foot ruby slippers on the other just a shoe He was sleeping in an orchard when the bells of Luna rang He had written fifty verses for every verse he sang On one long distant summer he cut the blue notes from the blues Because its so much more than dancing when youre wearing lavender shoes Too old to get a job now and theres no more trains to rob Oh my god my god another boy done gone done gone done gone The man who fell to Earth found nothing but a grave The man who walked on water is out there trying to catch a wave We were lucky to be born although we were born to lose Life alone is every dream you ever had come true So now the time has come to put your life back on the shelf Because nobody digs your music but yourself You laid it on the line but they refused The boy who clicked the ruby slippers And strapped on lavender shoes Comm

The tale was full of tears and waste. Its readers never guessed A happy ending was in place. Like a flower, it was pressed Into the center of the book. Fossil petals bloomed. In time, even the spidered leaves Were spinning new cocoons. And all those reeking passages Of wasted, tearful woe Were sweetened by kisses, contradicting The omnipresent No

She kisses a million dollar bill Under a mistletoe wreath Then she has a yard sale But can't sell her teeth Now her tongue keeps rolling Out the side of her mouth And when she stands on her head Her eyeballs fall out Chorus: She sticks in her thumb And pulls out a plum Is she out of her mind Or just unforgivably dumb She's the princess of chaos The queen of the damned She's stuffing her face With potatoes and ham Now she's ordering cheese From the top of the shelf If she orders desert I'm going to kill myself Repeat chorus She cuts to the quick Eliminating red tape When she murders the women Her husband has raped She's an eminent lady Ideal for the job She can silence a country With one little bomb Repeat chorus She is silent but deadly Like a sneaky little fart She says, "What smells so good?" You say,"Don't even start." She softens your heart With the promises she makes Then bites you on the neck And blames it on the snake

When I see The man in a tree I don't see you I don't see me The man in a tree Is a monkey When the apples are high and the harvest is nigh The man stands in a tree on a ladder When the apples fall down And rot on the ground Monkeys mark the spot where they splatter If the monkey Is white Visible in the night He will be seen by the hunters If the monkey is green He will not be seen He will move gracefully through the trees When I see The man in a tree I don't see you I don't see me The man in a tree Is a monkey

“There once was a troop of handsome soldiers Came marching down through Fennario And the captain fell in love with a lassie from above And her earthly name was Kelly-o There's many a bonnie lass in Fennario There's many a bonnie lass in Fennario But one is more fair than the earth and sea and air and the captain called her name, little Kelly-o O please come down the stairs, little Kelly-o I’m at the bottom of those stairs little Kelly-o Oh please come down the stairs and let me comb your yellow hair While you listen to the plea of Captain William-O I'll give you ribbons, I'll give you rings little Kelly-o And a necklace from Aberdeen, little Kelly-o A silken petticoat and above it you shall float If you will be my bonny lass of Fennario A soldier’s wife I’ll never be, Captain William-O A soldier shall not marry me, Captain William-O Although you have my heart, we now must surely part For I never will marry a soldier-o Then I’ll drink no more of your wine, little Kelly-o If you refuse to be mine, little Kelly-o Tomorrow is the day when our troops will ride away So bid one last farewell to your William-O Green grows the grass on the bonnie countryside And low lie the lowlands where the captain died He is buried on a battlefield where the defeated never yield He threw himself upon his sword for the love of kellyo
